Melissa Anderson - I am Polarized

Hi, I'm Melissa

Daughter of the King. Wife. Mother. Daughter. Sister. Friend. Musician. Therapist. Saved by grace. I love. I pray. I hope. I dream. I laugh. I cry. I have high highs and low lows. I am bipolar. I write. I am creative. I am sensitive. I care. I give. I learn. I grow.

Gosh, does that sum it up?  I am so excited to present my site to you!  My hope is that this is just the beginning of something wonderful.  My dream is that I can use my voice - my experiences, talents, and education - to share what I know, what I've been through, what I'm still going through, and how I survive.  I'm a big picture kind of girl, and I can see it hovering somewhere above me, just waiting to come into focus.  My big picture definitely involves writing and mental health.  I have been personally combining these things for several years, but now it's time for me to share it in a bigger way.  So - this is my effort to do just that.  This site will be the gateway to my blog, which is to say the gateway to my voice.  I do hope you enjoy!

Here is just a little tidbit of my story for you.  In 2016 I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.  As you might imagine, this totally rocked my world.  While it made a whole lot of things come into focus, and make a lot of sense, it was just the beginning of a very long, very dark, very scary road.  It felt like my entire world had been shaken, if not completely pulled out from underneath me - you know, kind of like a magician pulls a tablecloth out from underneath a table full of dishes.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but no matter what it's like a tiny earthquake for the contents of that table.  Well, my earth definitely quaked.  Sometimes it still has aftershocks.  Sometimes they are big.  But here I am, ready to share all of the things I have been through, and all of the things I have learned, with you!  I hope you will find some hope through my journey.  Peace.
